Note: He was a Major in Rev. Army (NJ miliia); desc's in DAR, SAR; DAR national: #A087770

Note: DAR Linage book, Vol. 23, #22503, p175; "Samuel Franklin Parker, (1745-79), was captain of Col. David Forman's battalion, Heard's brigade, 1776 and was promoted major the same year.  He was born in Woodbridge, where he died."
Note: married 1st, Sarah Ford, she died, 1768, leaving a 3 yr old dau, Mary. See James Parker, printer, will. Sarah was listed as married to Samuel Parker, as his 1st wife, an error.

Note: father James, did not like his son's personal habits, idleness, women, lying, etc as shown in letters to Ben Franklin.

"She [Jane] died at her home on 26 July 1831. aged 85, and was buried beside her husband in the graveyard of the First Presbyterian Church in Wilmington.  In 1921 the graves of Jane and her husband and children were moved to the grounds of the Masonic Home Cemetery in Wilmington, DE.

Note: In Article 16 of Henrietta's will, she left a large black letter bible, printed in 1566, which belonged to her great grandmother Jana Parker, to the Delaware Historical Society. It appears to be missing today (2016).  The Bible as examined by Gordon Bond(2002) was in very bad condition; pages removed, pages cut out, extra pages inserted, falling apart, loose sections, etc. One page, photographed, has the signatures of Jana and her children (1728-1730). It is very hard to read some entries. I have this photo and have placed it in this file. See Williams Paschall biog., fig 3.
